A SUSTAINABLE LIVING CONCEPT BY

The Moth

The Seed aims to offer our guests the chance to experience Sustainable Kind living, with the goal of inducing a state of Flow; an ultimate state of peak creativity and performance that allows us to reach periods of inspiration and connection with our very own muse.  Our experiences include mindfulness and movement practices, ceremonies, meals cooked from scratch and loaded with prana and the most beautiful sustainable spaces built with noble materials that allow for a deep connection with the wilderness around us.

All aspects of life at The Seed have been curated to create states of flow, of peak wellbeing and creativity,  designed by The Moth, experts in creating conscious habitats and experiences in mind blowing natural locations.

The Moth's vision is to be a tangible example of kind sustainable living that inspires and helps others make changes in their own lives, hence contributing to the transition to a kinder world. Our bespoke stays  allow guests to choose luscious a la carte, nourishing  live-in experiences that inspire and change lives.

The Seed in Tzununá, Lake Atitlán, Guatemala is a living example of The Moth's values which include a combination of ethos for sustainable working, learning and ultimately being. From its personal spring-water source to its edible and medicinal gardens, its waste water to its composting systems, every part of The Seed has been built with sustainability in mind. Other consciously devised elements include a the rooftop yoga shala surrounded with an awe inspiring view,  a traditional Mayan temazcal sauna placed in luscious gardens  next to our spring pool.  All of our signature elements give access to an enhanced, healthy way of living.

WORLD LEADING SUSTAINABLE SYSTEMS

Eco-Architecture

Across a pioneering four-bedroom main villa and two charming cottages, The Seed’s unique, energy-efficient properties unite luxury with sustainability; contemporary architecture with traditional craftsmanship; local materials with world-leading sustainable systems; and indoor and outdoor living.

Championing bamboo, palo santo and albaricoque, they are operated with solar hot water and sustainable grey water and compost systems. With spectacular design details from statement staircases to custom-made baths and verdant terraces, each celebrates its unique location: designed around breath-taking lake views, night-time stargazing spots or tranquil hillside hideaways. The result is three remarkable, distinctly different properties.

LOVINGLY CULTIVATED

Gardens & Food

From avocado to aloe vera, bananas to berries, zapote to spinach, The Seed is blessed with acres of tropical plants, fruits, herbs and vegetables – both wild-grown and cultivated across permaculture gardens and greenhouses, fed by our mountaintop spring-water well, compost system and chickens.

Here you will find a massage cabin hidden amongst the raspberries, a chemical-free natural plunge pool, our Mayan temazcal sauna and sound dome. These lovingly cultivated gardens offer sanctuary, privacy, medicine and organic garden-to-table dining. We offer healthy, hearty local fare exquisitely prepared from scratch by our personally-trained local chefs. All guests and groups can arrange menus with us.

 Plunge Pool

Tucked away in the flourishing flora, you will find our natural plunge pool. Here is the perfect place for a cool soak to help stimulate recovery and revitalization in the most natural of environments. Our plunge pool is fed by our mountaintop spring-water well and does not use any harmful chemicals to maintain its beauty. Unlike saltwater and chlorine pools which use mechanical filters and harmful toxins, we constantly refresh our water by refilling it regularly and recycling the drained water to hydrate our organic garden.
